There are three categories of HC Licences:

Automatic: Permits driving of automatic HC vehicles exclusively.

Synchromesh: Enables driving of vehicles equipped with synchromesh or automatic gearboxes (single clutch) only.

Roadranger: Grants permission to operate any type of HC vehicle (double clutch).

An HC Licence authorizes you to operate a motor vehicle connected to either a semi-trailer or a trailer with a gross vehicle mass exceeding 9 tonnes.

All HC assessments are carried out by our certified assessors at our premises.

If you possess an interstate or international licence, please liaise with the Department of Transport to acquire either a Learners’ Permit or transfer your interstate licence to a Western Australian (WA) licence.

Requirements:

Must have held a Western Australian (WA) Drivers’ Licence for a minimum of 3 years.
Possession of either an MR (Medium Rigid) or HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence for at least 1 year.
